However, many of us are unable to claim citizenship or access fundamental rights, such as obtaining a passport or opening a bank account, in our ancestral countries due to current nationality laws. This disconnects us from our heritage and limits the contributions we could make towards the development and prosperity of these nations.

Therefore, we call upon the governments of Caribbean nations to amend their nationality laws to allow descendants—including grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Caribbean nationals—to claim citizenship through their grandparents or great-grandparents. Such changes will not only deepen the bonds between diaspora communities and their homelands but will also stimulate economic growth and foster cultural unity across borders.
